LBM Abrasive Removal System – 1,000 kg

This innovative Polish device is designed for the automatic removal of spent abrasive from the tank of any machine tool used for high-pressure waterjet cutting. The abrasive is pumped into a replaceable container (Big-Bag) located within the device.

The device features a special separator to separate used abrasive from the water in the slurry being pumped from the machine’s tank. The use of this assembly enables a significant increase in efficiency compared to overflow systems, in which the entire volume of the slurry is pumped into a Big-Bag container. The system’s spent abrasive extraction capacity is up to 1 ton per hour (under optimal conditions).

How does it work?

Water, which constitutes over 90% of the total volume of the pumped slurry, is recirculated back to the machine tool tank (thereby minimizing water loss in the machine tool tank). Wet abrasive, which accounts for less than 10% of the total volume of the pumped slurry, is fed into a tank equipped with a Big-Bag container. The residual water remaining in the abrasive seeps through the Big-Bag and collects in the drain tank located below, from which it is pumped back into the machine tool sump.
